About Karen

An accident one morning on an otherwise ordinary workday – and the resulting injury to my brain – set me on a path of discovery of craniosacral work for my own healing. Its effectiveness in helping to clear residual brain trauma issues so intrigued me that I wanted to learn more. I decided to go for more schooling and specific training in CST and have been in private practice since 2004. I have primarily focused my studies and practice around working with those with head and neck trauma, but I also work with people experiencing a wide range of concerns, including: PTSD and similar states of “high alert”, the complex fallout resulting from sexual, physical, and emotional trauma, immune system dysfunction, and a long list of sensory issues. More recently, I now add long-haul covid symptoms to that list,

My interests in anatomy, physics, and health combined with academic study and professional background in both biology and psychology have made CST a good fit for me. I have studied with the Upledger Institute and a large portion of my training has been with Tim Hutton. I also incorporate some of the gentle work of Jean Pierre Barral, D.O. and Tad Wanveer in working with the soft tissue surrounding the cranial nerves as well as the glial cells.
